College Football is Back And With It a Social Media Frenzy

The official kickoff to the 2016 college football season began on Thursday, September 1st. And since then, the official ESPN College Football twitter account has tweeted well over 200 times. Fans everywhere are sharing videos, pictures, updates, highlights, cheers, hashtags and of course memes to celebrate the long awaited return of college football. The interesting thing about this weekend was that fans were not just talking about their own team, or even their own conference, but in fact the entirety of college football itself. This weekend did not just mark the start of college football to fans, but the kickoff to the lifestyle change college football brings in the fall. Fans watch more tv, spend more time on football oriented websites and apps, change the focus of their weekend plans, eat more, travel more, spend more money, and over all talk to one another more.
